Hash Run Monday 3 February 2014 at 18.00 hours.

The next Hash Run will take place at Gaborone Golf Club on Monday 3 February, starting at 18.00 sharp. 

We have borrowed a braai stand from the club and will supply charcoal. There are plenty of tables and chairs but please bring your own plates, cutlery and braai meat with accessories. The Indian restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Drinks must be bought from the club bar so do not bring any drinks of your own. Happy Hour prices between 17 and 19 hours, typically P10 for a beer, thereafter P14 for same.

Directions to the Golf Club:

Everybody knows where to find the Golf Club along Chama Drive, entrance just south of Gaborone Sun and there will be Hash signs to show it. 

Coming from south or central town - find the University Circle (by the mosque), drive north and take first turn right - look out for on-coming fast traffic.

Coming from north (Broadhurst via Segoditshane Drive) or west (via Nyerere Drive) or northeast (via Limpopo Drive) - find ex - No Mathata Circle (by Maru-a-Pula and circle replaced with red lights at crossing with Nyerere Drive), drive south and pass Gaborone Sun and then take first turn left. 

One Hash sign by take-off from Chama Drive and one showing the entrance to the Golf Club - you can't miss it.

The guard will be warned but he may ask you to sign a book.

Park at the Golf Club parking and find the covered lapa outside the bar.

Fwd: Sunday Hash Jan 26 9am

Hi All

Sunday's hash details below. In line with this year's plan to celebrate our diverse cultures, and as Burn's night is approaching, we suggest a Scottish theme for your dress, if you feel like joining in. There may be treats!

.  Here are the directions and information for Sunday.

Come join the Hash House Harriers for a Sunday run/walk/jaunt!

Sunday Jan. 26th  at 9:00am.  We will meet at our house Plot 3072 just
inside the American Recreation center (President's Drive, near
Independence).  Give Cort a call when you get to the gate and he will
buzz you in: 74176201.

You will find the Hash Harrier signs at the intersection of
Independence and President's Drive.  Parking is ample on the street.
There is a short (5km) and a longer run (9-10km) planned. We would
love to host a bring-and-braai after the run.  See you then!

This weeks hash is hared by Mary Poppins and Cat Lady out in the sticks at Gabane.

 

Due to the hot weather, we are starting at 9 00am, which should guarantee a rainy and cold run!

 

Mary Poppins says

From the Rainbow School circle on the Western Bypass, take the Kanye-Thamaga road through Mogaditshane. The road becomes single track after the Engen filling station.

After about another 4K pass Choppies and the road into Gabane Village, but don't take it.

Continue on the main road for about another 2.5K with the village on your left. Where the hill ridge meets the road, take a left turn onto a major dirt road. There is a cluster of signs here including 'Thatched houses to rent' and' Pelegano Industries' and [bizarrely] 'Thank you for not littering'. There will be  a KH3 sign here if you are not too early.

Follow the dirt road for about 300m to the third [or fourth] turn to the right marked 'Thatched Houses to rent' and Dithlareng-The Taylors where there will be another KH3 sign. About 50m up this road is a gate, with parking on the right. This will be the start. [there will be a security guy on the gate who will watch the cars.]

The On-after will be at our house which is through the gate and about 200m up the hill, but has limited parking.

 

There will be the usual bring and braai so please bring all your stuff.

We have no dog of our own but are likely to be visited by the neighbours' dogs once they smell the charcoal!

Fwd: March 2nd suggestion

The Lady Khama Charitable Trust are setting a half marathon/10k/5k run on Sunday March 2nd at 6 00am at Fairground holdings. Costs are 1/2 marathon = P100. 10K = P80, 5K = Donation

 If you are interested, let us know by e-mail and we can put in a hash entry on February 22nd

Hello and a Happy New year to you all,

 

We have plans

 

March 17th is St Patrick's day and our very own Barry Nolan will be running an Irish hash and bash that evening. Details to follow but Barry would like anyone who has a musical instrument [and hopefully the talent to play it] to bring them along and join in with the music making. The rest of us can clap along. There will be an Irish themed dress code for the run.

 

 

While on the theme of special days, February 16th will be the nearest run to Valentines day so start sprucing up your red dresses boys! Ideas for venue and offers to hare that run would be welcomed asap.

 

I'm trying to find a good excuse and a place for a weekend away sometime around the end of March/April so again ideas for place would be appreciated.

 

Details will follow for this weeks hash on Sunday in Gabane, starting at 9 00am but after that I have no hares--volunteers needed, please!!

Hash on Sunday 12 January 2014 at Tlokweng, NOTE AT 4 PM   

Hash at 4pm, bring swimming gear and braii afterwards.

Directions to our house. 

Drive past river walk towards Tlokweng border. Turn left at last set of traffic lights (if you get to end of dual carriage way you have gone too far). Drive about one Km ( past police station on left and shopping mall on right) you will go over 3 humps on the road. Turn right immediately after the shopping mall. Drive past 3 turnings on your left. Take 4th turn on left, (there is a car park with water utility office on the right. )

Drive along this road as it turns to dirt, the road will bend to the right then shortly afterwards take the left turn and immediately right. Corner house on your left with concrete block wall and meranti gate. Plot 420 sign on gate.
