Run 1492: Sunday 30th January, 10am, Gabane

The run this Sunday, 30th January, at 10am is in Gabane and will be a good bush/village run with great scenery. It will be followed by a bring and braai.

  • Take the Kanye road from the Rainbow School circle on the Western Bypass [A10].
  • The road becomes single track once through Mogoditsane and reaches Gabane in 3-4km.
  • Ignore the main turning signposted Gabane off to the left and carry on for another 2.5km.
  • Where the hill ridge meets the main road turn left onto a dirt road. There is a cluster of signs here, the most prominent being the Gabane Balance Reservoir. There will be a KH3 sign here.
  • Take the third turning on the right, 2-300m along the dirt road signposted Ditlhareng, The Taylors and KH3.
  • The start is about 50m up this turning, parking on the right in front of the gate.

The bring and braai will be about 300m up the hill through the gate where there is limited parking.

Run 1490: Monday 17th January @ 6pm

The next run will be held on Monday 17th January at 6pm sharp in Mokolodi Village.

Directions from your esteemed hares follow:
Travel south from Game City circle on A1 Lobatse Road past Telecoms earth station and take first (and only) road to the right.  Note this turning is about 7km from Game City and is the road to Mokolodi Village.  Do NOT proceed to the Mokolodi Nature Reserve turn off which is about 3km further south.

Then travel on narrow tar road for 3kms.  When tar ends take the right fork and travel for around 500m.  Take the second small dirt road to the right and you will have somehow found the start of the K3H run.

Once you leave the main road, beware of hostile dish drains, potholes, cattle, goats, donkeys, chacma baboons, and irresponsible truck drivers.  Large rock pythons and leopards also occur occasionally on this road but you’ll only see them on the way home (after a couple of beers).

This will be a bush run so leave your sandals at home but (as if I need mention it), don’t forget your sense of humour. See you on Monday.
